Women’s March Jacksonville and
The Jacksonville Progressive Coalition present:
The 2018 NE Florida Legislative Academy
WHEN: Jan. 20 from 1- 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: IBEW Hall, 966 North Liberty Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
WHY: This event is designed to help us all turn our attention to Tallahassee during the 2018 Legislative session (January-March). This is a 60-day period when so much damage can be done to our lives and to our state through ill-conceived legislation. We hope to educate our members, friends, and families on the legislative issues impacting women and working families, our environment and our educators, and young people who are our future. We plan to organize to support good, progressive legislation and to defeat the continuing attacks on the people and the environment of Florida.
WHO: Scheduled presenters include:
Judy Sheklin—Jacksonville NOW
Samir Gupte—NE Florida ACLU
Tom Larson—NE Florida Sierra Club
John Meeks—Florida Education Association
Karen Morian—Florida AFL-CIO
